Episode 5 of season three of Strange New Worlds is the second episode I've actually liked. I gave episode one (Hegemony, Part 2) a seven out of 10, and I'd give this one the same.
Through the Lens of Time is also the second episode of the season to seem like classic Trek. The rest (the Trelane episode, the zombie episode and the holodeck episode) were NOT what fans have come to expect from SNW. They were either humor or horror.
One thing bothered me: they were going to regenerate Ensign Gamble's missing eyes. We went through Star Trek: The Next Generation with Geordi La Forge wearing a visor INSTEAD OF USING HIS EYES! Why would you introduce replacing eyes two series before TNG? Somebody missed that plot hole. In fact, I missed it when I first watched the episode.
Oh, I also didn't care for the part where they ripped off Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. We've seen the leap of faith before.
Overall, though, I liked Through the Lense of Time, but I hated them killing off Gamble. I liked that character.
I did wonder why they spelling lens lense. The video above spelled it correctly.
