In early July, I looked online and found that Strange New Worlds would debut its third season on July 17. So I waited somewhat impatiently.
Last night, I looked on Paramount + and saw that Season 3 hadn't been added. But then around 5 a.m., I checked again, and there were TWO new episodes in there. Naturally, I almost instantly began watching Hegemony, Part 2.
I spent much of the episode struggling to keep up with the plot, and I wound up thinking their resolutions for the Enterprise and Patel came too easily. Then this afternoon, I watched the above YouTube video from Sci-Finatics, benefited from his analysis, and I understood the episode a bit better.
I did enjoy the interplay between Scotty and Pelia, and I always enjoy Erica Ortegas, the ship's pilot. I did wonder, though, how she could pilot a Gorn flyer while having severe hand and body injuries. It seemed too convenient.
I'll watch the episode again later to find the things that got past me the first time. And I'll probably enjoy it more.
