Recently, I noticed an interesting trend on Twitter. People were listing five movies they'd seen at least 10 times each.
Rush Hour and Back to the Future were on most of the lists, and no one listed most (or any) of the movies I've seen over and over.
Christmas movies like White Christmas and Christmas in Connecticut are both high on my list. I've probably seen WC at least 40 times over the last 60 years, and I've seen CIC probably 30 times. I have no idea how many times I've seen The Bishop's Wife and It's A Wonderful Life, but they're on my 10-time list.
I've seen Casablanca (my favorite movie) 20 or more times. I'd watch it more often, but it's rarely been on TV. (I have two DVDs of Casablanca now, so it's OK.)
There are several John Wayne movies on my 10-time list, including The Quiet Man, Rio Bravo, Stagecoach, Rio Lobo, Rio Grande, Hatari!, Donovan's Reef and Angel and the Bad Man.
Also on my list: the Sam Elliott western Conagher and the Cary Grant crime movie To Catch A Thief, plus the baseball movies Bull Durham and It Happens Every Spring. I don't know how many times I've watched The Sin of Harold Diddlebock, but it's 10 or more.
And, yes, Back to the Future is on my 10-time list. So is Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
It's easy to catch a movie 10 or more times if you've lived long enough, and I have.
Darn, I KNOW there are one or two (or 10) other movies I should have listed.
Teahouse of the August Moon is one. So are Goldfinger and Forbidden Planet. Oh, and Singin' In The Rain. And don't forget Raiders of the Lost Ark.
The list goes on and on.
