The Pro Bowl

I HAVEN'T WATCHED an NFL Pro Bowl in many years, but I'm watching it now. My first impression: The lead singer for the National Anthem could be better. (It got better when the backups joined in.)

I hate crying and/or shouting in commercials.

Matt Schaub, a former University of Virginia quarterback, has thrown two touchdown passes for the AFC. Go, Wahoos!

It's obvious that no one's going to clobber a quarterback. At least two left ends have had a free shot at a QB and passed on it.

The Packers' Aaron Rodgers just threw a touchdown pass to the Giants' Steve Smith. You won't see No. 12 throwing to No. 12 anywhere else. (I just saw a pair of 92s tackle somebody.)

The Texans' Mario Williams just sacked Rodgers, so I guess they're not going to give QBs a free ride after all.

They have the Ravens' Ray Lewis miked up, and it's cool to hear him make defensive calls and to help his teammates.

Those uniforms are ugly, but I like the NFC blue unis better.

I can see why Joe Namath wanted to kiss Suzy Kolber.
