Catcher in the wry

I'VE BEEN READING various newspaper stories about the death of J.D. Salinger, the writer of the hugely popular "Catcher in the Rye." I've read the book, of course; it's probably affected me in ways I don't know.

It's funny but, looking at a photo of the young Salinger, I think Harry Connick Jr. could play J.D. in the movie.
